Our Class List helps teachers share a classroom wish list and helps families support it. Our Class List is run by Domfly LLC, a California limited liability company ("we" or "us"). This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short and we only describe what the site actually does.
What we collect
Your account. When you create an account we collect your name, your email address and a password. We never store your password itself, only a one-way scrambled version of it.
Class lists. If you are a teacher, we store what you put on your list: your name as you want it shown, your class and school, the items you need, and any pictures you upload.
Messages to us. If you contact us through the Support page, we keep your name, email address and message so we can reply.
Visits. We count page visits without cookies and without storing your IP address. The visit counter uses an anonymous code that changes every day, so it cannot follow you from one day to the next.
Cookies
When you sign in, we set one cookie that keeps you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use it
We use your information to run your account, show your class list, send account emails (like confirming your email address or resetting your password), answer your questions and keep the site safe from spam and abuse. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who helps us run the site
A few service providers handle information for us, only to run the site: Domfly, our own platform, which hosts the site; Cloudflare, which delivers the site and runs a security check on our forms to stop spam (it looks at your browser and IP address to do that); and Mailgun, which sends our account emails. We may also share information if the law requires it.
Students and children
Our Class List is for adults: teachers and families. It is not meant for children under 13, and children should not create an account.
Teachers: please do not put students' full names, photos of students, or any student records on your list. A list should be about the classroom and the things it needs. If we learn we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it.
Keeping or deleting your information
We keep your account and class list while your account is open. You can delete your account yourself at any time from your Account page. Your account, your class list and everything on it are deleted right away. Messages you sent us through the Support page are kept separately so we can reply; ask us through the Support page if you want those deleted too. Copies can stay in our backups for a limited time until they are replaced.
Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) everywhere on the site and store passwords only in scrambled form. No website is perfectly secure, so please use a password you do not use anywhere else.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will tell account holders by email.
